Dee Why SLSC, founded in 1912, is a Club of more than 750 members that span Nippers, Cadets, Juniors, Seniors, Masters and Socials. These people come from all walks of life to train, patrol, compete and enjoy the friendly atmosphere that exists on one of the finest beaches on Sydney’s northern peninsula.

The Surf Club has a heritage that will celebrate its 100 years in 2012 but today it is a reflection of the energy of its current members which have established it as one of the most progressive in Australia. Our principle objective is to provide surf life saving services to the community and to educate and promote surf safety.

Why not come down one weekend and introduce yourself to a great bunch of people. You don’t have to be a fantastic swimmer, all you need is enthusiasm.

If you would like to join the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club you’ll need to complete a registration form and drop it in to the Club House one Sunday morning (in season). The best time is between 9am and 11am. You’ll probably need to catch up with the Treasurer at some point as there are different membership rates depending on your status.   For any new nipper memberships we need to sight a copy of a birth certificate or passport.

The spectacular course (approx 6.5km) from Dee Why to Manly showcases the best of the Northern Beaches. Starting at The Strand in Dee Why and finishing on the Steyne in Manly, with all finishers receiving a commemorative medal.

Runners, joggers and walkers are all encouraged to take up the challenge of the 2nd annual Sun Run.

The event also aims to raise much needed funds for more than 600 charities, including the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club.

SURF SWIM

The 2nd annual Sun-Herald Surf Swim is set to return to picturesque Dee Why Beach on Sunday, March 18, 2012.

In 2011 the exciting new 1.5km ocean swim attracted a competitive field of more than 800, with entrants enjoying perfect conditions, warm water, sun and sand.

The event aims to raise much needed funds for more than 600 charities, including the Dee Why SLSC.
