Nippers  -  2009 Season commences on Sunday 11th October at 8.45 for a 9.00am start

Our Nipper section is riding a wave at the moment. Our enrolment number is around the 250 mark and our surf education programme is working well. All age groups have a competitive racing team so we are looking forward to another summer in the sun. Nippers is a great family activity. It's a lot of fun for kids and adults alike. Membership is from 6 to 14 years and involves education, training and competition. Our aim is to educate our children about surf safety and teach them life saving techniques. We try to wrap it in a whole lot of fun. Regular events include a beach sprint, relays, beach flags, swim, board and wade. All equipment is supplied but many families choose to buy their own boards to make unscheduled training easier.

The Junior (Nippers) committee meets on the third Wednesday of every month in the Betty Barry Room at the Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club from 7.00pm. All are welcome to join in. Please contact Matthew Molinia  (Nipper Coordinator) on 0402 247 886 or Marg Roberts (Secretary) on 0414 470 003 for more details.

*A childs' inability to meet the above swimming requirement does not mean they cannot participate in the Nipper program. We need to assess their level of competency for Sunday morning water events and they must be proficient if they wish to compete at Carnivals. Arrangements can be made for swimming assessments to be conducted on any child unable to attend the official assessment day at the Definition Pool.

The First Day of the Nipper season is Sunday 11th October, commencing at 9:00am sharp.
Anyone wishing to Register can still do so on a Sunday morning, before the 9:00am commencement time. Proof of child's' age (ie birth certificate or passport) must be presented for all new members.
