Senior  membership starts at 14 years of age when budding life savers leave the Nipper movement and enter the cadet ranks. Dee Why cadets enjoy specialised training and have access to train with the larger racing mals, surf skis, the boat crew and the IRB crew. The Senior Club caters for a variety of training interests. The basis is its gymnasium and training rooms. Here you can refine sand skills, surf skills and life saving techniques. All are fully equipped.
Social activities play an important role in the Club and thanks to an active social committee there are formal and informal functions scheduled every month. The Club House features two social areas. The Betty Barry Room, an informal meeting spot complete with licenced bar and adorned with 90 years of memorabilia. And the Swan Lounge, a separate function centre with commercial kitchen and flexible seating to cater for gatherings of up to 150. Both enjoy wide sprawling balconies that overlook the beach.
The Senior Club committee meets on the second Wednesday of every month in the Betty Barry Room at 7.00pm. All are welcome to sit in.
